While there are many variables that contribute to the cost of a custom pool, the average 80 ft.-perimeter pool in East Texas currently costs $65,000-75,000. You can count on spending an additional $25,000 or more for a 6-person spa tub.  

Wes Malcolm Pools does not offer financing. However, we recommend and work closely with HFS Financial for great rates and good terms when financing your pool.

Yes. Wes Malcolm Pools believes that everyone deserves the luxury of enjoying a swimming pool in their very own backyard. So, we install Plungie® pools, the perfect alternative for people with modest budgets or limited space. Sometimes called “cocktail” pools, Plungie pools are pre-fabricated concrete pools designed for tight spaces.

Though Plungie pools are small, with a 60-ft. perimeter or less, they can be installed above-ground, partially in-ground, or completely in-ground to suit your design preference.

Yes. Owner Wes Malcolm is certified by the national Pool and Hot Tub Alliance and recognized by Watershape University as a Certified Watershape Builder, proving his competence in Business Administration, Sketch-up, Cost Estimating, and Fluid Engineering.

We have staff certified by Structure Studio to design and create 3D renderings of your pool and surrounding areas. They specialize in designing custom pools that fit seamlessly into your existing landscape and match your style aesthetic.

Numerous variables make every project different: size and shape, number of features, extent of customization, decking and landscaping, even external factors like permits and weather. However, it takes approximately 9 weeks to build an average pool.

Some pool builders promise you a pool in as few as 30 days. At Wes Malcolm Pools, we believe in quality over quantity. Therefore, we allow our concrete to cure for 28 days to prevent shrinkage that can cause your tile or coping to crack or pop off, resulting in a more durable, longer-lasting pool finish.

Gunite is actually a process, not a material. A gunite pool is constructed by spraying a mixture of cement, sand, and water onto a rebar framework. Gunite pools are the most durable and long-lasting. They can also be completely customized, so you can choose the size, shape, and features to include in your backyard pool. With the exception of Plungie® Pools, Wes Malcolm only constructs custom gunite pools.

A fiberglass pool is pre-fabricated and delivered to its destination. Fiberglass pools come in a variety of standard shapes and sizes, but they cannot be customized. Transportation and installation constraints further limit the look you can achieve with fiberglass pools.

The walls of a vinyl liner pool are constructed of steel or fiberglass on which a vinyl liner is stretched to create a watertight surface. Vinyl liner pools are more economical and allow for more customization than fiberglass pools. However, vinyl liners are susceptible to puncture and wear, requiring replacement every 7-10 years.
